With all the emotionless rap out in the airwaves today, it really makes you miss the golden days of hip hop. The days when Biggie changed New York, when Tupac motivated the West, and when Soulja Slim influenced New Orleans. Those days seem so far away, and now, we are stuck with all these soulless melodies. However, there’s still hope for hip hop, and this hope comes in the form of an up and comin rapper named Shome.
Shome is a New Orleans born and bred boy with immense knowledge and infinite heart. He was born to indian parents which makes him much more diverse than you’re average rapper. Growing up in the murder capital, you would expect any rapper coming out of N.O. to rap about crime, violence, and drugs. But Shome isn’t just any other rapper. Rather than focusing on gangsta rap, he focuses on the good he can do with his music. He seeks to uplift people and inspire them to make a change. Shome has an undying belief that every man has a responsibitly to make the world a better place, and he strives to do this with his lyrics. He attends University of North Carolina – Charlotte. He has relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina 2 years after Hurricane Katrina occurred. However, he has not let that drive stop him at the age of 21.
